I've been thinking a lot about Makorra lately, and I sort of don't want them to get married. Don't get me wrong, I live and love Makorra, but a wedding just doesn't seem right for them. I mean, Mako's only ~feeling 22~ by now, to me that's too young to get married, let alone Korra with her...20? Also, marriage seems to be too much binding for either of them. I just want them to get back together without getting married, although I feel a little guilty about that.

I don’t think that’s anything to feel guilty over. Early 20s is still kind young to get married, but not uncommon or doomed to fail, and there’s always the possibility of another time skip. Plus there’s the whole fantasy element/saving the world/avatar bond that has to factor in. But by the end of the series, they’ll both have grown tremendously and been through so much together that I think they’d have a pretty good idea if they’d want to be (or even could be) married. I do think it’s a bit of wishful thinking to expect a wedding, but I wouldn’t be that surprised if it actually happened.

You wouldn't happen to know when the hard copy versions of the new korra game will come out, would you?

motherofavatars:

I think the version by Platinum is a digital download only, actually! I cant find any thing about hard copies being released or found in stores.

The one for the 3DS looks to be a physical copy. IIRC the game producer I talked to at the IGN party said that it has the same storyline but just different game play (turn based).

Since I run a gaming sideblog that’s about to clash with my main due to the LOK game coming out I figured I could offer some info about the game for those of you who aren’t in the ownership of any gaming consoles, you’re in luck—its being released on PC through Steam!
but what is Steam?
its Valve’s online gaming service that you can buy PC games on (and play free ones too!) its great! its both a site and an application so if it asks you to install it, don’t freak out, you can choose to use the app or just stay on your fave browser.
do I need an account for it?
yes! Steam sets up like any other account you would make to buy things online—just put some funds into your steam wallet, pick out the LOK game, and you should be good to buy!
I made an account, now what?
you can fiddle around with some of the options in your account if you want. make a wishlist, add some friends, set up a profile—it runs like any other social media site, really. the only difference is that games have been added to the equation.
can my PC run the game?
the minimum requirements for it are as follows:
OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8Processor: AMD Athlon64 X2 5600+ or Intel Core 2 Duo or better Memory: 2 GB RAM Graphics: Radeon HD 3850 or GeForce 8800 GT or better DirectX: Version 9.0 Hard Drive: 3 GB available space Sound Card: 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 16-bit sound card
they’re not very demanding requirements as far as PC games go, so any regular laptop that runs well enough should be fine :)
I’m not much of a gamer… how can I play it?
all PC games have keyboard controls that aren’t too hard to learn. but a lot of games also give you the option to use a USB controller—and LOK is one of them! so if you have one laying around or know someone who has a controller than can plug into a computer (they’re common for Xbox, I believe), go for it!
either way you go, don’t feel bad if the game is too hard for you or if its just not working out. sometimes games are like that! its sucks, I should know. try to enjoy it as much as you can and be on the lookout for guides that may pop up around here after it releases c:
anything else?
this page here is the Community Hub where I assume the game will available for purchase by 10AM PST (that’s the time Steam puts out its updates). Starting tomorrow that will be the place to meet other people who play the game on Steam, post screenshots and reviews and lots of other cool things! I’ve been on Steam awhile myself and I’ve found it to be rather pleasant compared to most of the gaming community, so if you give this a try for the sake of LOK you might be tempted to stay and try out some other games… :D
if you have any more questions feel free to ask!
